Kempas is a medium- heavy timber from a large hardwood normally growing to height of about 85 meters. Kempas Wood Flooring is originated from South East Asia especially the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia.
Kempas offers a wide range of colour variability from pale pinkish to medium dark-reddish. The sapwood is pale brown to pale yellow, where heartwood is orange red to red brown. The heartwood will often have yellow brown streaks which could be slightly confused with the sapwood. The colour will darken with age and on exposure.
